X-Head_1250 + Avant RT 1250

* The Avant RT1250 front fender extension protects the front of the engine's painted surfaces from damage caused by stones, debris and tar accumulation thrown back by the front tire. The Avant 1250 design adds 6" of extra front fender length and 2" more width than the stock fender to help reduce maintenance on pipes, and surrounding components. The Avant RT_LC helps to keep engine surfaces looking new longer.

Avant easily installs with "no drilling of holes" in your brand new purchase. It fits over the top of the stock RT fender and engages the trailing end with a unique molded-in saddle. Two stainless steel compression clamps grip the underside of the stock fender on two sides, drawn tight with T25 Torx Head screws. The characteristic flared wing shape widens the splash coverage area without looking wide, and it fits perfectly.

X-Heads cover 70% of the face of the head to protect not only the bottom/front initial impact area, but also the mid part of the cylinder head. With its blend of high impact strength, and temperature and UV stabilization, the injection molded shell is designed to be slightly ductile in impact to prevent breakage. On the inside of the shell is a thermoplastic rubber liner that rests against the face of the cylinder to aid in dissipating impact force while preventing hard contact. Each side mounts easily with 3 stainless steel M5 T25 Torx Head screws.

X-Head 1250 are designed to complement the RT's bodywork and Shift Cam engine - full protection beautifully integrated.

X-Head RT 1250

The new X-Head 1250 cylinder head guards for all 2019/2020 Shift Cam engine models continue the Tough Polymer protective technology that's been successfully proven in use over three generations of X-Heads.

Designed for the GS, GSA, RT, R, and RS, X-Head's thick, high impact strength injection molded shell is slightly ductile to prevent breakage. In between the shell and the cylinder head is a thick thermoplastic rubber liner that aids in dissipating impact force while preventing hard contact. Each side mounts easily with 3 stainless steel M5 T25 Torx Head screws provided.

X-Head 1250 covers 70% of the face of the head to protect not only the bottom/front initial impact area, but also the mid part of the cylinder head. Even in a stationary drop, inertia can cause a bike to roll partially onto the face of the head before it settles down.

X-Head 1250 are styled to complement the Shift Cam engines and fit perfectly with BMW's crash bars. For off-road riding they fill the vulnerable spaces in-between the bars to protect heads from rocks and strike angles on terrain that can get past the crash bars.

Fitment with aftermarket brands of crash bars may vary, depending on the amount of clearance available between them and the cylinder head surfaces. To install X-Heads on bikes already fitted with crash bars, the bars will have to be removed to provide enough working room for X-Head installation. It is a straightforward bolts off, bolts on procedure.

The design adds 6" of extra front fender length and 2" more width than the stock fender to help reduce maintenance on pipes, and surrounding components and keeps engine surfaces looking new longer.

A key feature of the whole Avant line is ease of installation with no hole drilling required in your brand new purchase. It is simple to install and looks beautifully integrated with the styling of the new RT. The Avant fits over the top of the stock RT fender and secures at its end with a unique molded-in saddle. Two stainless steel compression clamps grip the underside of the stock fender on two sides, drawn tight with T25 Torx Head screws. Avant RT1250 are injection molded in resilient polypropylene with a surface texture that matches the RT fender. The characteristic flared wing shape widens the splash coverage area without looking wide.
